Will AI take our jobs? Wrong question.
Enough evidence accumulated; the thesis held.
“The question is no longer "will AI take our jobs." The question is: what will we do together with AI?”

What I think about this today.
Where it came from
On October 5, 2026, I decided to talk about something, but I hadn’t decided how. The room had lights, test phones and a laptop camera. In 2 hours and 10-15 prompts, I wrote a shooting system that controls all of them from one screen. Then I talked for 13 minutes on 6 cameras and never touched the edit. 41 minutes later I had a 10-minute video and 9 shorts.
There’s a backstory. Last year we had a YouTube channel called Bence Böyle. We quit because of the editing, not the shooting. It took a full day of my week. Last week I had AI edit the old raw footage. Videos that averaged 150 views went up to the 1000-1500 range. I don’t have that editing knowledge. It does.
What I saw
- The technical side of the work is what’s losing importance. I’ve run a software agency for years. Our business is selling software, but the era of selling software is ending, and selling software services will either end or shrink a lot. Anyone who looks at it only from the technical side will be saying goodbye.
- I couldn’t compete with a prompt. In software, AI only makes me faster. In video editing, I felt for the first time that it replaced me. That’s where I understood what people feel about vibe coding.
- Specializing in one thing isn’t as valid as it used to be. We need people who can direct software, video editing and graphic design, who can get past the technical layer to where the idea matters, and who can bring people along. That’s not easy.
What I think
The question is no longer “will AI take our jobs.” The question is: what will we do together with AI?
- We’re repeating the printing press mistake. People who criticize the Ottomans for adopting the printing press late are turning their backs on AI today. The difference: this time it’s not 300 years, it’s 3.
- Only one valuable thing is left: you. Everything digital has been fed to AI. The only thing that can’t be fed to it is the experience you lived. You can exist by passing that on.
- We can’t reach 2050 with the mind of the 80s. There’s no grace period for adapting. We need to change the way we think.
- Software is the new Excel spreadsheet. We used to open Excel when starting something. Software will become an ordinary tool like that. The real work is elsewhere: what I think, what I want, where I’m stuck, how I get past it. Maybe more philosophy, more humanity.
Open question
Things are speeding up so much that the human role is sliding to controller, operator level. In digital work this is already past 80-90%. We’ll have a lot more time. So what will we do with the time that frees up? We’ll learn that together by living it over the next few years. Until then, we need to make room for ourselves to think, apply and experiment.
This is my first recording in a long time. I want to record and share something every day, and this is the first.

Artık soru "yapay zeka işimizi alacak mı" değil; soru şu: yapay zekayla birlikte biz ne yapacağız?why it changed: Yayın öncesi noktalama düzeltmesi, düşünce değişmedi.

- This idea extended by Story deconstruction As AI makes it easy to build a story that looks real down to every piece of evidence, the more important skill is no longer telling stories but taking apart the ones we run into. Testing
- This idea extended by SaaS isn't dying, it's changing shape People don't pay to buy software, they pay for the promise that it will still be supported tomorrow. As copying gets easier, SaaS doesn't end, it changes shape. Testing
- This idea related Are we rowing for nothing? The effort we put in does pay off somewhere, but usually not right away and not where we expect it; the only real measure is being able to honestly say yes to "did I do everything I could?" Testing
- This idea related Is Gen Z lazy? Wrong question. The question isn't whether Gen Z is lazy. It's whether this system, this education and this business world run on today's terms or still on the 90s. Testing
