The Mind Manifesto

What Mind is

Mind is the canonical source of one person’s thinking.

Say I have an idea today. I write it on Threads, a version of it on LinkedIn, a video of it on YouTube. Three months later the idea changes, but those three copies stay exactly as they were. Nobody knows which one is current; neither do I. The idea itself lives nowhere, only its copies do.

Mind turns that around. The idea lives in one place. Everything on social media is a copy of that idea, and the copy links back to the source. The reactions the copies get flow back to the source too.

Here is what you see when you come to this site: every idea is a node. At the top of the node sits a one-sentence thesis. Below it, the cooked version, which is what I think about this today. Below that, the raw version: a voice memo, a transcript, a first draft, a video. Further down, where this idea went and what happened to it there. At the very bottom, the other ideas this one is linked to.

What Mind is not

It is not a blog. On a blog a post is finished and published. In Mind nothing is finished. Nodes live, change, sometimes reverse. The reversal itself stays on the record.

It is not a portfolio. I am not showing my best self here. Theses that turned out wrong, experiments that failed, raw voice memos: they are here too. Raw is not shameful, raw is evidence.

It is not a second-brain app. A second brain is private, messy, shown to no one. Mind’s raw layer resembles that, but there is always a cooked layer on top. I show you the raw material, but I do not leave you alone inside it.

It is not a social media account. Social media is a distribution channel. Mind is where those channels are fed from and return to. If you like something I wrote on Threads, that is an event that belongs to Threads; but what that like means lives here: is the thesis getting stronger or weaker?

It is not a personal brand page either. I am not trying to convince anyone. I am only making visible what I think, how I think, and what changed. If you end up convinced, that is your own business.

How it works

An idea is born. Usually as a voice memo, sometimes as half a piece of writing. That gets recorded as the raw layer.

The idea turns into a thesis. One sentence. If that sentence cannot be written, the idea is not ready to be a node.

The node is published. Its status is “seed”. It has not been tested yet.

The idea is distributed. A thread on Threads, a post on LinkedIn, a video on YouTube. Each one links to the node and the node links back. The node’s status becomes “testing”.

Reactions flow back. Views, comments, objections. They accumulate under the node. If enough evidence piles up, the node becomes “mature”. If the evidence refutes the thesis, the thesis changes and the old version stays on the record.

I do not assign the status. The evidence does.

Who it is for

For people: you read something on social media, it caught your interest, you wanted to find its source. This is it.

For AI: I built this site for you to read as well. Every node has a Markdown version. There is an llms.txt. There is an endpoint you can ask questions through. If you are going to quote me, quote me from here, not from the copy on Threads. The raw layer is closed to you, because what you need is what I think, not how I mumble.

For me: five years from now I want to come back and see what I thought when, and what changed. I do not trust my memory. I trust the record.

Language

I think in Turkish, I write in Turkish. The original of everything here is Turkish.

English versions are translated by AI, and that is stated openly. You can see which translations I have reviewed and which I have not. I see no reason to hide it. Do not trust a site that hides it.

Rules

Every node tells one idea. If there are two ideas, there are two nodes.

The raw layer is never deleted. The cooked layer changes, the raw layer stays.

If the thesis changes, the old thesis stays visible. “I used to think this” is not an embarrassment; it is the reason this site exists.

Everything published elsewhere is linked back here. What is not linked is not part of Mind.

No ads here, no selling, no courses. What I do for a living is on the about page; that is enough.

Why “Mind”

Because that is exactly what the word means. My mind, opened outward, linked, dated.

This is a format. It does not have to end with me. Anyone building their own mind can take the rules on this page and use them. Citing the source is enough; that is this site’s only principle anyway.

Look into my mind.
