What I think about this today.

What happened

On October 5 I started shooting one video every day. On October 31 I shot the last video of the series. 26 days, 24 videos. I never shot ahead: every video I published was shot that same day. That’s why I skipped two days.

I didn’t think I’d shoot this many videos in such a short time. I kept my word, and I liked that.

This wasn’t really a content series

I have to admit something first. I did this series to learn the whole process of making video. I learn by doing, that’s always been my method.

Talking to a camera, talking to three cameras in an empty room, feels less strange now. Editing, publishing, where and how to use AI after the shoot, I learned all of it in these 26 days. When I look at the first videos, I can see I’ve relaxed. The biggest gain: being able to be myself in front of the camera.

What we talked about: four veins

  • AI. Will AI take our jobs, a world where screens disappear, we don’t write code by hand anymore. I’m less into following tech news and more into how it enters daily life.
  • Founder stories. How I started, the times Kemal and I went under, how DigiSapiens was founded, the sweater story, knocking on 30 lawyers’ doors in Pendik. This is where I got the most messages: “I went through the same thing but couldn’t tell anyone.”
  • Focus and consistency. Boredom therapy, open tabs. I also wrote most of these up here.
  • Things I told myself. I’m telling you these things, but really I’m telling myself. I can’t do a topic I don’t enjoy talking about anyway.

A method: corridors

A method I never planned came out of this. The time corridor and the idea corridor. Instead of following a script, I build scenes and talk through the transitions between them. A memory palace might work, but it takes the long run. I’m a practical person. With this method my prep time got shorter, and I no longer need dozens of takes like at the start. The series finale was shot this way too.

Doors the videos opened

Things I didn’t expect happened this fast. Gonca Hanım from Milliyet reached out and we did an interview about my founder story. I was invited to speak at Düzce University. The founder stories I told laid the foundation of DigiSapiens, and our waitlist is crowded.

I used to be the one knocking on 30 doors. This time the videos knocked.

The streak and the momentum

Not everything was this bright. On the evening of October 27 I set up the cameras, prepared the lights, did a test shot. Deep down I knew I shouldn’t shoot. If I had, it would have been to keep the streak, for perfectionism. I believe things should come from within. What mattered to me was keeping the momentum, and I think I did.

November and December

No new long videos in November. Shorts and reels cut from the episodes will go out, and I’ll measure which ones land. You can find the long videos on the channel and their written versions here. November is a fallow month for me.

In December the channel comes back with new concepts. Different experiments in long and short video, sometimes guests, maybe live streams. Not a video every day, but deeper, higher-quality content.

Thank you

Thank you to everyone who watched, followed, commented and messaged over these 26 days. You made me feel that what I do matters. The biggest thanks to my wife Sevin, who was always there while I shot on weekdays and weekends. And to my partner Kemal, who took the workload on himself and made this time for me.

I’m ending the streak, the momentum continues. See you in December.
